Propagation of the negative charge excess in EAS leads to the spatial separation of the negative and positive charges in the atmosphere. This in turn causes the formation of an electric dipole field, the life time of which depends on the whether conditions. Such small fields have the character of microfluctuations on the background of much stronger fields, usually present in the atmosphere. The height distribution of ion excess concentration and the magnitude of these microfluctuations were estimated.
