The primary cosmic-ray intensity, mainly of protons, is estimated from
the data by emulsion chamber experiments at various altitudes. The
diffusion of cosmic rays in the atmosphere, necessary for the analysis,
is calculated on the basis of the data by recent high energy
accelerators.
