The present article deals with the diurnal and seasonal variations of the N-S and E-W components of drift speeds over the magnetic equator at Thumbe during 1964 for E- and F-regions. It has been found that during Equinox the drift is predominantly westward; whereas during summer considerable southward component is present in both the regions, during winter a slight northward component is indicated. These deviations from westward direction of the drift are suggested to be due to latitudinal movements of the equatorial electrojet.
