The maximum-entropy method of spectrum analysis is applied to obtain the power spectra of Pi 2 geomagnetic pulsations. The results indicate that Pi 2's can be divided into three categories according to spectral character. A study of these spectral types suggests that Pi 2's generally consist of two components, possibly due to two different modes of hydromagnetic wave, one of which exhibits harmonic structure and is associated with the plasmapause.
