We show a new correlation between high speed streams in 1995 and ULF waves (Pc5 range) upstream from Earth's bow shock. These ULF waves occur in the compression region at the leading and trailing edges of high speed streams, and are further enhanced through interaction with the quasi-parallel bow shock. We compare our new correlation to a closely similar correlation between high speed streams and Pc5 pulsations in the magnetosphere. This comparison suggests a physical relation that may be the result of a direct transmission during times of nearly radial IMF or a perturbation driving magnetopause displacements.
