2162 Solar Cycle Variations (7536), 2164 Solar Wind Plasma
Scientific paper
We present a brief review of what is known about the variation of near-earth solar wind plasma parameters as a function of phase of the solar cycle. Topics covered will include the solar wind speed and density distributions, variations in the solar wind dynamic pressure (of consequence for the location of the heliospheric termination shock), the behavior of the He/H ratio, and the frequency distribution of interplanetary shocks.
