A general analysis of undistorted propagation of localized wavepackets in
photonic crystals based on a Wannier-function expansion technique is presented.
Different kinds of propagating and stationary spatio-temporal localized waves
are found from an asymptotic analysis of the Wannier function envelope
equation.
