Total And Inclusive Cross Sections, Z Bosons, Supersymmetric Partners Of Known Particles

Scientific paper

The stringent tests of the Standard Model performed with LEP data taken between 1989 and 1995 severely constrain the possible sources of new physics beyond it. The most recent measurements of the Standard Model parameters obtained with more than 20 million Z boson decays are summarized and interpreted from this point of view. The data collected by LEP at higher energies allow to investigate the direct production of new particles. The status of the searches for new particles, other than Higgs bosons and supersymmetric partners is reported.
