The discovery of the 1987-1988 passage of the Comet Bradfield 1987s (also designated 1987 XXIX) is described. The comet was observed at a location 35 miles north of Adelaide, Australia, on August 1987, 11.437 UT, with a 6-inch f/5.5 refractor, with a 26-power eye-piece giving a 2.2 deg field. It was reported that the comet's coma consisted of three parts, including a dim portion 4-arcmin in diameter, an inner 3 arcmin portion appearing much brighter, and a starlike center. Data are presented for the orbit, the magnitude, the coma size, and the tail length calculated for this comet by various observers.
