Four IUE shifts are requested to obtain high dispersion SWP spectra of galactic O and B stars at galactocenter distances R of less than 7 kpc. The data will be used to study changes in the properties of galactic halo gas from the central region to the local region of the Milky Way. From theoretical considerations we expect the central regions of the Milky Way to support a denser halo than that observed locally.
