We propose to use the IUE satellite to observe six BL Lacertae objects as part of a comprehensive program of complete, quasi-simultaneous spectral coverage in the radio, visual, ultraviolet, and X-ray wavebands. All of our targets are known X-ray sources, and five of the six have been observed previously with IUE. The composite spectra obtained, as well as any observed variability in the emission, are probes of the physical processes occurring in these sources, and will be used to constrain models For the emitting region.
