We review a few of the recent developments in the many-body theory of nuclei and neutron stars. The successes and difficulties in understanding nuclear binding energies are discussed along with the importance of one-pion exchange and three-nucleon interactions. It is argued that nuclear many-body theory may be useful to study the observed 1.4Msolar neutron stars, and the problems in predicting detailed properties of neutron star matter are discussed. Finally we review some of the electron-nucleus scattering data that suggests that the magnitude of short-range correlations predicted by the theory is resonable.
