The bright low red shift quasi stellar object PG 1351+64 was repeatedly observed with IUE. The spectra exhibit strong emission lines superposed to a continuum with a spectral index of -0.3 for a single power low fit in the 1200 to 3000 A range. Variations of a factor 2 in line and continuum intensity are observed with a minimum time scale of a month. The nature of the continuum emission is discussed and an upper limit to the mass within the line emitting region is deduced from the observed line variability.
