The brightest part of the HII region NGC 604 was repeatedly observed in the ultraviolet range, in low resolution, with IUE. The ultraviolet spectra of NGC 604 are fitted with synthetic spectra, a mixture of O and B early type stars and WR stars. No constraints are imposed a priori and only corrections for reddening are taken into account. The observed spectra of NGC 604 can be satisfactorily fitted to the synthetic spectra in the continuum and in the stellar emission and absorption features.
