From Auger Electron Spectroscopy of 15 pristine SiC surfaces (prepared
without harsh acids) and subsequent NanoSIMS measurement of three SiCs,
we find evidence for C-rich, Si-poor coatings and C and N isotopic
distinctions between surface and bulk.
