Observations with the STIS CCD detectors have been analyzed to verify the repeatability of the Mode Selection Mechanism (MSM) on-orbit. The data, obtained with motions of 1, 2 and all 3 of the movable cylinders of the MSM, reveal that the MSM is quite repeatable in both the dispersion and spatial directions, with the full range of 0.3 and 1.5 pixels, respectively. However, this high level of repeatability does not obviate the need for regular WAVECALs, as we expect thermally-induced drifts to be of greater magnitude.
