We present numerical simulations of a tidal deformation of a galaxy due to an interaction with intense primordial gravitational waves of wavelength of typically 30 Mpc. The galaxy is found to be deformed to a trailing spiral shape within one revolution time. In contrast to Toomre and Toomre's simulation of colliding galaxies, the present deformation of a galaxy is bi-symmetric about its rotational axes. The deformation in the direction perpendicular to the galactic plane is found to be negligible for any incident angle of the gravitational wave.
