Using the integral field spectrograph OSIRIS and natural guide star adaptive optics at Keck, we obtained high angular resolution imaging spectroscopy of the bipolar jet from the Herbig Ae star LkHα 233. By comparing these near-infrared J- and H-band data sets over a two-year period, we can measure the proper motion as well as study physical conditions within the jet. This furthers our understanding of the environment of young stars and the bipolar jets associated with this young star. The redshifted jet contains two bright knots of matter that have a proper motion of .07 ± .009"/year for the knot closest to the star, and .11 ± .02"/year for the knot furthest from the star at a distance of 880 parsecs. From these and the measured radial velocities, approximately 95 km s-1 and 110 km s-1 respectively, we calculated the inclination angle of i=75 degrees relative to the plane of the sky. This is consistent with the inclination previously inferred from AO images of the disk, and confirms the 880 pc distance. Since the data we collected is in both the J- and H-bands, we were able to calculate other physical characteristics within the jet through flux ratios of the emission lines, including directly measuring the extinction to the knots.
