Results are presented for simultaneous optical and X-ray observations of the X-ray burst sources MXB 1837+05 and 1916-05. On two occasions during these observations an X-ray burst from MXB 1837+05 was detected by SAS 3, but no accompanying optical signal was detected. The 3-sigma upper limit to the ratio of the energy in a possible optical burst to the energy in the X-ray burst is 0.0001.
