In the present paper, a statistical modeling of extensive air shower development is carried out to clarify the role of the ratio of secondary to primary particle energy on the experimentally observed characteristics of extensive air showers. Modeling is performed within the framework of the scaling model, where the dominant nucleon produces only pions. The distributions of hadrons with energies greater than 600 GeV and of muons with energies greater than 10 GeV are plotted against the energy ratio of secondary and primary particles.
