International Ultraviolet Explorer observations of the globular cluster M80 are presented and discussed; their importance in relation to problems of galactic populations and population synthesis programs is stressed. A clear increase in flux toward short wavelengths was noticed, proving the presence of a large number of hot horizontal branch stars, the possibility of setting constraints on the color distribution of these stars, and the evolutionary history of the cluster itself.
