Scientific paper

An ansatz, suggested by Ashtekar's (1986) reformulation of general
relativity, which exactly solves the field equations with a cosmological
constant is presented. These solutions are gravitational instantons,
i.e., self-dual Euclidean solutions of the Einstein field equations.
