The present paper deals with some aspects of high-velocity solar wind fluxes at heliocentric distances on the order of 1 AU near the plane of the ecliptic. The variation of the flux characteristics over a solar activity cycle is examined, along with the problem of localizing regions which give rise to high-velocity solar wind fluxes on the solar disk. The energy balance of the solar corona and solar wind is studied.
