I will discuss the problem of thermal transport and its effects on cooling flows in the hot (T > 10 keV) plasmas in halos of clusters of galaxies. This is an important problem in astrophysics believed to be connected with the formation of most massive galaxies and the distribution of mass in the Universe. I will address the question of the magnetic field effects as well as of the possible origin of these fields in galactic cluster halos. In particular, I will discuss the role played by the magnetic fields in modifying thermal transport and the possible dynamical effects of these fields on cooling flows.
