A simple form is found for the magnetic field structure in the neighborhood of a flux tube or sunspot. This model can be used to model various effects, such as solar oscillations in the vicinity of a flux tube. Equations for the magnetic field components in a 2D cylindrically symmetric flux tube equilibrium are derived and solved. The resulting magnetic configuration possesses a strong magnetic field in a thin tube below a reference level (solar photosphere). Above this reference level the field lines spread out in all directions.
