Using the simple method of Akhmediev and Korneev, a special class of periodic solutions of NLS equation is fully investigated. They are expressed through Jacobi elliptic functions. The whole class (regular and singular solutions) is studied and classified. They are not under the form of traveling waves, but are alike as standing waves with complicate time dependent amplitudes.
