We have presented theoretical investigations of the atomic geometry and electronic structure of the BeS(110) surface using an ab-initio pseudopotential method within the local density approximation. Furthermore, the zone centre phonon modes on this surface are calculated using a linear response approach based on the density functional perturbation theory.
