Two Japanese spacecraft, MS-T5 and Planet-A (renamed 'Sakigake' and 'Suisei' respectively) were launched into interplanetary space with the goal of encountering Comet Halley. Together, the spacecraft carried the following instruments: (1) an ultraviolet imager, (2) an electrostatic analyzer for detecting solar wind ions and electrons, (3) a Faraday cup for solar wind detection, (4) plasma wave detectors, and (5) a ring core magnetometer to detect magnetic fields. Examples of solar wind plama data are provided.
