Polarimetry of Comet Halley reveals gradual turning of the polarization plane relative to the scattering plane in the inversion angle vicinity, and circular polarization. The polarization plane turning has no explanation in terms of Mie scattering theory. The phase dependence of integrated polarization and both findings are results of solar light scattering by fine oriented (aligned) particles.
