Data for the 1967-1977 period are used to study the variability of solar granulation with the radio flux of the quiet sun. A negative correlation is found between the mean center-to-center distance of the granules and the 1000-9400 MHz radio flux of the quiet sun. The radio emission is found to be about 60 percent higher during the maximum of the solar cycle than during the minimum. The results suggest that the radio flux of the quiet sun is affected by changes in the mean distance between granules or their total number in the solar photosphere.
