In the circular restricted three-body problem, there exist families of three-dimensional, periodic halo orbits which emanate from the general vicinity of the three collinear libration points. For most values of the mass ratio of the primaries, the families each contain a range of orbits which are stable. The primary objective of this work was to investigate the effect of eccentricity in the primary system on the stability of such a halo orbit found in the circular problem. It was found that introducing a small amount of eccentricity into the system apparently destabilizes the periodic orbits of the infinitesimal body.
