The He-like effective excitation rates of Fe-26 XXV are calculated, taking the effect of the autoionizing states 1s3l'nl (with n = 3 or greater) into account. Excitation-rate coefficients are determined exactly for n = 3, 4, and 5 and by extrapolation for n greater than 5, and the results are presented in tables. It is shown that the 1s3l'nl states are more important in determining the excitation-rate coefficients than the 1s2l'nl states (but still much less important than the radiative-cascade effects), affecting mainly the direct excitation of the forbidden z line and becoming less effective as temperature decreases.
