Parameters of the thermal evolution of neutron stars are found whose hadronic matter contains a π-meson component. The surface temperature TR for typical neutron stars is shown to lie in the range of 105 ≤ TR ≤ 106. The cooling of neutron stars at TR > 106 is due to neutrino loss. For neutron stars of 103 - 106years lifetime photon luminosity lies within 1029 - 1033erg/s.
