The brightest nova remnants and nova-like variables (which are possible candidates for membership of the class of nova remnants) are reviewed. Several nova remnants show multiple periodicities: V603 Aql, HR Del, CP Pup and possibly V1500 Cyg have differing photometric and spectroscopic periods. The cause of this is not known, but there is a similarity with the superhump phenomenon in SU UMa stars. The RR Pic shows changes in structure, 50 yr after the outburst.
