Comparisons are made between the equivalent widths of CN lines as calculated with different facular models and widths predicted with a photospheric model. Accurate interpretation of CN data is necessary for mapping minimum temperature regions of the solar atmosphere. Three homogeneous and three fine-structure models were, with the photospheric model of Holweger and Mueller (1974), applied to 22 lines of the (0-0) band of the red system and 16 lines of the (0-0), (1-1) and (2-2) bands of the violet system. Data plots are provided for the values obtained.
