Carbon monoxide has been detected for the first time in the atmosphere
of Uranus, from infrared spectroscopy using ISAAC at the VLT. This
result provides new constraints on the planet's interior, and
illustrates significant differences between the two 'icy giants' Uranus
and Neptune.
