Biraud1 and Bond2 have drawn attention to the close agreement in position between the variable star AP Lib and the radio source PKS 1514-24. The optical object, which was originally classified by Ashbrook3 as an irregular variable, exhibits chaotic variations1 in brightness over time scales of hours and days. Although the optical position given by Ashbrook3 is not precise, there seems to be little doubt that this object is associated with the radio source. However, it is important for further investigations that the radio-optical association be more firmly established by the measurement of accurate radio and optical positions.
