Scientific paper

Reasons for conducting solar-eclipse observations from the stratosphere
are discussed. Stratospheric observations of the total solar eclipse of
July 22, 1990 from a specially equipped Falcon 20 are described. A
visualization of the corona of the 1990 eclipse is presented.
