A number of observational studies have shown the presence of mass segregation in young clusters with ages less than the timescale needed to produce the observed segregation by two-body relaxation. Here we present the results of a number of N-body simulations of the dynamical evolution of globular clusters aimed at exploring the evolution of mass segregation in the early stages of clusters life. We show different possible paths leading to young clusters with mass segregation in agreement with observations.
