Within the survey of HST Guide Stars a number of interesting stars has
been monitored. We demonstrate the ability of the HST Fine Guidance
Sensors to detect stellar variability and present the results of the
first issue of the Catalog of Variable Guide Stars. Furthermore
instrumental effects on the data have been studied in detail.
