It is known that in a model containing mirror leptons the magnetic moment of the electron neutrino (μve) may be large enough, μve⋍(10-11-10-10)μB, to explain the deficit of solar neutrinos. We show that such a large μve is consistent with the observations of the supernova SN 1987A. In this model the magnetic transition does not lead to the production of inert neutrinos which would cause a rapid cooling of the star.
