Using HST/WFPC2 images in V, I, Hα and Hβ, the authors study the recent star formation history of the starburst galaxy NGC 5253. The peak of current star formation is located almost in the center of the galaxy and occupies a region of 6″in size; the center of the peak region coincides with the position of the youngest star cluster and the stellar population in the entire region is less than 10 Myr old.
