When considering an optimized superposition of astrophysical events characterized by a restricted set of plausible conditions, it is shown that the solar system r-process abundances can be reproduced quite well. The non-establishment of the (n,γ)-(γ,n) equilibrium along some isotopic chain is shown to be able to account for previously reported discrepancies with solar system observations. Additional uncertainties on the solar system r-abundances are discussed in the framework of a non-exponential s-process model. A new multi-event s-process model is constructed and compared with the exponential model predictions. Error bars on solar system r-abundances are derived by allowing deviations to the usually adopted exponential superposition of neutron exposures.
