Although Seyfert nuclei are classified as Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs), they are hosted by spiral galaxies and effects from the host galaxies cannot always be ignored. Since either nuclear star formation or the AGN can power large-scale (kiloparsec-scale) outflows (LSOs), i.e., jets or winds, it is of interest to determine the origin of these outflows. The morphologies of large-scale radio structures in Seyfert galaxies are typically quite different from those of radio halos found in starburst galaxies, argueing against a starburst origin for LSOs. In addition, many of the large-scale radio structures are oriented at skewed angles with respect to the galaxies' major axes, whereas radio halos from galactic winds in starburst galaxies are oriented at an angle of 90 degrees. If the X-ray emitting plasma from the LSOs is in pressure equilibrium with the radio-emitting plasma, then the X-ray filling factor is >10^4 as large as that of the radio plasma, suggesting that LSOs are winds and not large-scale jets. Linear nuclear radio sources, probably produced by small-scale AGN-driven nuclear jets, are not aligned with the large-scale radio structures. We favor an interpretation in which LSOs originate as AGN-driven jets that entrain and heat gas on kiloparsec scales as they make their way out of the galaxy. AGN- and starburst-driven winds are also possible in cases where the winds are oriented along the rotation axis of the galaxy disk.
