Equivalent widths (W) for solar lines from the atlas of Moore et al. (1966) are studied by comparison with smaller sets obtained from high resolution material. Values are found to be virtually independent of wavelength, and correlation with the strength of the line is very weak, in agreement with previous results using smaller samples. The internal dispersion of the present W values is estimated as a function of W, and is found to be about 10 percent within the range investigated. Lower values for the reference line samples may be due to the higher resolution and the improved methods for determination of the continuum level of these studies.
