The effects of solar granulation and short-period oscillations on the solar profile of the K I 7699 line and its center-to-limb variations are investigated. Two 30-s acoustic waves with opposite horizontal wavenumbers are added to allow for the center-to-limb calculations in obtaining the wave field. It is found that Nelson's (1978) granulation model cannot account for the discrepancies between observations and values computed in a static atmosphere. A better fit of the center-to-limb variations of the absolute mean bisectors for the K I 7699 line is obtained by multiplying the rms velocities of the granular model by a factor of 1.5, and by including a short-period wave which perturbs the higher photospheric levels where Nelson's granulation vanishes.
