A second order predictor corrector method is examined, taking into account a simple extension of the method. An approach involving a continuous change of step length is considered. In selecting the new step length, the requirement that the ratio of the truncation error to the solution is less than some preassigned value has to be satisfied. Calculations regarding the free fall collapse of a spherical gas cloud are discussed.
