Scientific paper

Procedures for determining the gravity fields of planets from the
movements of their moons are reviewed with consideration of revisions
made possible by data obtained from tracking spacecraft in the vicinity
of the earth and Mars. Strategies used for the calculation of J(2) and,
where possible, J(4) values of the major planets are summarized.
