Based upon a novel picture of the starburst-AGN connection where the formation of a dusty obscuring wall is regulated by the radiative force by the circumnuclear starburst, we study the time evolution of AGN type with taking account of the dependence on the stellar initial mass function (IMF) in the starburst. Since the covering factor of the radiatively-supported obscuring wall decreases with the stellar evolution, an AGN appears to shift from type 2 to type 1 in a shorter time-scale when a lower mass limit of the IMF is reduced. We find that if the lower mass limit is 0.1Modot, the ratio of the duration in which an AGN exhibits a type 2 spectrum to the duration of a type 1 spectrum is less than one tenth, almost regardless of the slope of the IMF. Hence, the number ratio of type 2 AGNs to type 1 AGNs is anticipated to be 10% or less. It turns out that in order to account for the observed ratio of roughly a half, the lower mass limit of the starburst IMF must be greater than 1.0Modot.
