Simplified models for the region where Lyman-alpha is formed, in the boundary between prominences and corona are presented. The models were calculated by solving the radiation transfer in the line and the energy equation considering conductive flux. The absolute intensities and profiles of the Lyman-alpha line given by the models are calculated and compared with observed values. The comparison shows that the temperature gradient starts increasing in the region of formation of Lyman continuum and reaches a steep gradient in the region where the central core of Lyman-alpha is formed. General agreement is found and the influence of the different parameters on models and on the emerging intensities is shown.
